I agree with you, obviously. Unfortunately, I've run out of the drive/ time to continue with other "bloggers of the poetry revolution" besides my second one on the Wanderer. It was (is) a great idea, but I have too many things going on now blog-wise to really keep it up every day.

Yes it does! You see, the fate of the outerspace colonies was linked to the fate of the ancient empires on Earth. Also, in 1100 A.D. the city of Constantinople was key in rescueing the outerspace colonies from an Alien invasion (see below). As a result, prophets were sent to the colonies to warn them that their time would end when the last of the ancient empires on Earth was destroyed. Constantinople was the last one because it was actually a remnant of the Roman Empire. When it finally fell in 1453 AD, the outerspace colonies failed to come to it's aid. By doing so they sealed their own fate. Within a year the ether streams began to fail, and the planet's started reverting back to their natural, hostile environments.

Read one for more detail: The important part is in caps.

In the early days of our history human beings roamed the solar system looking for new empires to conquer. They were star sailors, travelers of the skypaths who discovered how to navigate the ether streams using magnetic ore in the rudders of their sailing ships. They learned how to travel to other planets using the simple technology of their ancestors. They built fortresses on Mars and Venus and many other worlds that once were habitable.
The ancient Hittites led the way by landing first on the red planet. They built the citadel of the first Martian emperors and quickly domesticated the native mastodon herds. Then they stationed fleets in the orbit streams to guard the ether portals from attack by other tribes.
But outer space was never peaceful as long as human beings walked the skypaths. Many kingdoms sailed to the heavens, filling the planets with aggressive warlords. Places like Venus and our moon became hotbeds of contention for many centuries. Other worlds, like Mercury, remained dominated by one race because of the extreme conditions on its surface. But only one world kept producing so many new tribes that no one ever came close to conquering it. That planet was our species’ own birth-place on Earth.
For over two thousand years these conflicts amidst the planets continued with only brief pauses for the aggressors to reload their weapons. In the later years these empires became enormous, with some kingdoms expanding their influence to most of the solar system. But they also became arrogant, unaware of the continual dangers of space, and unprepared for the consequences of unlimited expansion. Then finally, in the midst of a massive war, their worst fears were realized. On August 19th, 1099 AD, the unthinkable happened. A race of sophisticated aliens rocketed into our solar system on deep-space engines and lay siege to the Persian controlled moons of Jupiter. Within days the Persian Empire surrendered. The rest of the solar system was in extreme peril.
At first the human emperors had no idea what to do. Their armies were spread across millions of miles of skypaths without the ability to contact each other as a result of their petty wars. In desperation the emperors looked backwards in their minds to the one place in their hearts where everything was still sacred. That place was Earth.
And thus, because there was little else they could do, they sent messengers back to the home world to meet with the ruler of Byzantine Greece. He was the last of their kinfolk: the final remnant of the ancient empires on the planet Earth. He alone of all the Earthling monarchs was still in contact with the lost brethren, and even had stationed a few garrisons of his own on the moon.
But the Byzantine Emperor had little time for the messengers. He was busy with his own wars against the fearsome Turks in an area known as the Holy Land. He had lobbied throughout all of Europe for help in this battle, and none of his own forces were left over to battle the aliens. And yet he could not turn his back on his distant brothers. Therefore, because he could not spare his army, he decided to give them hope instead of help.
For this reason he sent his own daughter across the gulf of space towards the cold castles of the moon to offer her hand in marriage to one of the outer space emperors. He sent her along with a promise of peace and goodwill among humans as long as the towers of Constantinople remained free from destruction and loyal to the past. BUT HE WARNED HIS BRETHREN WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO THEM IF HIS CITY WERE EVER DESTROYED. THEY WOULD FACE A DESTRUCTION MORE DEADLY THAN AN ENTIRE ARMADA OF ALIEN MOTHERSHIPS!
So in the dead of winter his daughter set sail. She would travel with valiant knights who had come over from Europe. They were British Crusaders, direct participants in the ancient order of knighthood descending from Arthur. They were valiant with the sword and pure in their hearts. There were three hundred of them, and they would travel in three different ships along with the king’s personal advisor.
The name of their leader was Travers. His chief man at arms was a Scottish a muscular brute named Alfred.

What happened in the Solar System Apocalypse of 1454 A.D. ? Does it have anything to do with the fall of Constantinople one year earlier?
